The study also found that the median monthly rent for apartments in Seattle rose 5.6 percent to $1 on average from 2016 to 2017.
The median monthly rental price for apartments rose 2.3 percent to a record $1 billion in 2017, the report found.
The average rent per square foot increased by 7.6 to $3,600 a year.
The survey also found a 5 percent drop in rents in the downtown area from 2016-2017, according for the first time since the survey began in 2012.
